Today at Samsung’s Android and ATIV event the company has announced two new Windows 8 devices: the ATIV Q and ATIV Tab 3. The Q is an interesting dual-booting Windows 8/Android hybrid device, and the Tab 3 is a super thin Windows 8 tablet. Rarely do we get to write about Samsung and Windows in the same breath, so today is a good day.
The ATIV Q is being billed as “a truly convertible device” with the power to enjoy both Windows and Android. The Q allows users to enjoy Android apps on Windows. It has both Windows 8 and Android 4.2.2 installed. You get access to Google Play, and the ability to transfer files and share folders with Windows.
The Q sports a crazy new hinge that allows for four modes. You can lay the display flat for tablet mode, raise it like a laptop, float it for viewing, or flip it to stand upright. The display is one of the world’s highest resolutions at 3200×1800. If you’re a pixel junkie this is the device for you. Windows 8 has never looked better.

The ATIV Tab 3 is being called the worlds thinnest tablet. It comes in at just 8.2 mm thick and 550g heavy. With 10 hours of battery life it is a great device for being on the go. You don’t have to sacrifice for having a mobile device. The Tab 3 runs full Windows 8 and can do all the powerful things you would want a laptop to do. It also has S Pen support, as does the ATIV Q.
